about

“Are We Alright?” was written to reassure someone I love that our circumstances aren’t set in stone and that we can change what isn’t making us happy. So often we can get into situations that seem like they’ll be that way forever and we start questioning whether or not we’re OK. This song reflects the uncertainty that we all can experience over time in our relationships, our social status and with our work. But it also gives us the positive mindset to change. It’s important to remember, and stay surrounded by supporters that help remind us, that we are going to be fine if we keep moving forward. “Are We Alright?” explores the voices of both the doubter and the cheerleader and ultimately encourages the listener to question while also never giving up the search for what you want and where you need to be. Stay hopeful, stay curious and “Discover like you’re a kid.”

lyrics

Are we alright?
Are we alright?

I just wanted to write you this to tell you we’ll be fine.
I just wanted to write you this and remind you that you’re mine.

You and me, we’ll push through this and reach the other side.
The sea is big, the sky is high, the future is open wide.

Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.
Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.
Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.

You are not where you’re supposed to be.
All the more reason to keep looking.
Keep your head positive.
Discover like you’re a kid.

Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.
Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.
Are we alright?
Oh, won’t you tell me.
